Job summary

Fortus Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced UPVC Carpenter / Multi-Trade Operative to join a maintenance contractor for responsive repairs in occupied residential properties across Surrey and West Sussex. You will focus on UPVC window/door repairs, glazing, locks, and related carpentry tasks, delivering high workmanship and customer service.

The role requires strong maintenance experience, ability to work independently, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Carry out responsive repairs and maintenance in occupied properties.

• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to a high standard.
• Record works and materials used and ensure timescales are met.
• Work across Surrey, West Sussex and surrounding areas.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced UPVC Carpenter / Multi-Trade Operative to join an established maintenance contractor, carrying out responsive repairs across occupied residential properties in the Surrey and West Sussex areas.

The role will focus on UPVC window and door repairs, glazing, locks and associated carpentry works. The successful candidate will need to have a strong maintenance background, be confident working independently and provide a high standard of workmanship and customer service.

Duties

• Carrying out responsive repairs and maintenance
• Repairing and maintaining UPVC windows and doors
• Completing single and double glazing repairs
• Carrying out door and lock repairs
• Completing associated carpentry works
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs
• Completing general maintenance works where required
• Working within occupied residential properties
• Completing works to a high standard and within agreed timescales
• Recording completed works and materials used

Requirements

• Previous experience as a UPVC Carpenter, UPVC Operative, Carpenter or Multi-Trade Operative
• Strong UPVC window and door repair experience
• Good carpentry skills
• Experience within property maintenance, housing or responsive repairs
• Experience working in occupied properties
• Good fault-finding and problem‑solving skills
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently
• Health and Safety conscious
• Relevant trade qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience
• Full UK driving licence
