Responsibilities

• Carry out internal and external window repairs and maintenance.
• Repair and maintain single and double-glazed windows.
• Diagnose faults and determine repair solutions.
• Repair window frames, fittings, hinges, handles and seals.
• Carry out door repairs and maintenance (internal and external).
• Perform lock refits and related hardware work.
• Complete carpentry repairs for windows, doors and frames.
• Conduct general carpentry and joinery tasks as needed.
• Undertake minor multi-trade repairs when required.
• Work in occupied social housing residents with professionalism.
• Record completed work and report additional issues.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety requirements.
• Maintain company van, tools and equipment.

Multi-Trade Carpenter - UPVC Window & Door Repairs

Location: East London

Salary: £41,200 per annum

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Multi-Trade Carpenter to join our team on a permanent basis, carrying out repairs and maintenance across social housing properties throughout East London.

This is a hands-on role, with the main focus on internal and external window and door repairs. The successful candidate will have strong carpentry skills and experience working within residential properties, ideally within social housing or a similar maintenance environment.

A company van and fuel card will be provided for travelling between properties.

Main Duties

• Carry out all aspects of internal and external window repairs.
• Repair and maintain single and double-glazed windows.
• Diagnose faults with windows and identify appropriate repair solutions.
• Carry out repairs to window frames, fittings, hinges, handles, seals and associated components.
• Undertake door repairs and maintenance, including internal and external doors.
• Carry out lock refits, lock repairs and associated door hardware works.
• Complete carpentry repairs associated with windows, doors and frames.
• Carry out general carpentry and joinery repairs as required.
• Undertake minor associated multi-trade repairs where required.
• Work within occupied social housing properties while maintaining a professional and respectful manner towards residents.
• Complete reactive and planned maintenance works to a high standard and within required timescales.
• Accurately record work completed and report any further repairs or issues identified.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with relevant health and safety requirements.
• Maintain the company vehicle, tools and equipment to a professional standard.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong carpentry skills are essential.
• Previous experience in property maintenance, repairs or a similar role.
• Experience repairing windows and doors in residential properties.
• Knowledge and practical experience of single and double glazing repairs.
• Experience with door locks, lock refits and repairs.
• Ability to carry out a range of carpentry and joinery repairs.
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• High standard of workmanship with excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
• A full UK driving licence.
