Job summary

Notion4 Ltd is seeking an experienced UPS Electrical Engineer to join our growing team. You will install, commission, maintain and repair UPS systems and related electrical equipment across client sites, with hybrid working and some field-based travel.

The role offers training and ongoing career development, overtime opportunities and the chance to work on varied projects with a customer-focused approach.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds 2365 or equivalent electrical qualification.
• Experience installing, commissioning, maintaining and repairing UPS systems.
• Knowledge of three-phase power, battery systems, static switches, bypass systems and paralleling arrangements.
• Experience in fault-finding, load bank testing and battery testing.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and produce accurate technical reports.
• Knowledge of LV switchgear and electrical distribution; generator and ATS experience advantageous.
• 18th Edition BS 7671 and Inspection & Testing (2391 or equivalent) desirable.
• Valid ECS card and competence in safe isolation.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel, stay away overnight and participate in an out-of-hours rota.
• CSCS, IPAF, PASMA and manufacturer training certificates are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission and test UPS systems, battery banks and associated electrical equipment.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, battery testing and load bank testing.
• Attend reactive call-outs, diagnose faults and complete repairs to minimise customer downtime.
• Provide emergency out-of-hours support as part of a call-out rota.
• Complete accurate service reports, test certificates and commissioning documentation.
• Follow all health and safety procedures, including RAMS, permits to work and safe isolation.
• Advise customers on system performance, remedial works and potential upgrades.
• Maintain company vehicles, tools and test equipment.
• Support and mentor junior engineers and assist the projects team when required.
