Job summary

Class Act Teaching Services is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school in Oxfordshire for an experienced KS2 Teaching Assistant with Upper Key Stage 2 experience, supporting pupils in Years 5 and 6.

This role is initially for a minimum of four weeks, with potential extension for the right candidate. The school is part of a successful academy trust and aims to provide an inclusive, supportive environment. Your salary is paid weekly through PAYE.

Qualifications

• Previous KS2 teaching assistant experience is essential.
• Strong Year 5/6 curriculum knowledge.
• Experience supporting pupils with varying learning needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, proactive, and adaptable approach.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils within an Upper Key Stage 2 classroom.
• Work with the class teacher to deliver engaging learning activities.
• Support individual pupils and small groups.
• Reinforce learning in literacy, numeracy, and foundation subjects.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement.
• Help pupils develop confidence and independence.
• Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
• Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
