Job summary

Nicholas Associates is recruiting an Upholsterer for our manufacturing division in Heanor. You will upholster bespoke mouldings, read engineering drawings and operate sewing machines to produce fire seals for the oil, gas, marine and defence sectors.

As you progress to Team Leader, the role offers increased pay and responsibilities. The company offers 30 days holiday and a salary sacrifice pension. Commutable from Heanor, Alfreton, Ilkeston, Nottingham, Derby and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Experience reading engineering drawings.
• Ability to follow SOPs and operate sewing machinery.
• Capable of cutting, marking out materials and upholstering.

Responsibilities

• Uphold bespoke mouldings and fabric to create fire seals.
• Read engineering drawings and set up sewing machines.
• Cut, mark out materials and assemble components.

The Basics

Role: Upholsterer - Manufacturing and Production Team Leader
Location: Heanor
Hours: Monday-Thursday (7.30am to 4.00pm) and Fridays (7.30am to 1.00pm) (37.5hr)
Salary: £13.38 per hour / £26,091 per annum + OT (Paid at x1.5 Mon-Sat and x2 Sun) = earnings of £30,000 and upwards achievable
Once progressed to Team Leader this would rise to £13.68 per hour.

• Holidays & Pension: 30 days, salary sacrifice pension = 5% individual contribution / 7% company

Overview

Working for a manufacturing business that make fire seals for the likes of the Oil and Gas industry as well as the Marine and Defence Industry, we now require someone to join the production department. You will be tasked to upholster bespoke mouldings, reading engineering drawings, operating sewing machines, cutting and marking out to create material fire seals.

The ideal candidate / Upholsterer may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually.

• Previous experience operating sewing machinery
• Previous experience cutting and marking out of materials
• Capable of following SOP's and reading engineering drawings
