Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd is launching its National Teaching Assistant Programme in Salford to support those starting a Teaching Assistant career. The Unqualified Teaching Assistant role is full time and temporary, with a salary of £463 - £500 per week, dependent on experience and qualifications.

The programme provides on-the-job training, safeguarding and identity checks, and aims to secure you a paid placement in a school while you develop your skills, with ongoing support from a dedicated

Qualifications

• Be able to build positive relationships with children and young people.
• Be passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people.
• Understand safeguarding importance.
• Willing to complete required training and CPD.
• Be able to provide 2 references, right to work in the UK.
• Possess ability to pay for enhanced DBS and Update Service.

Responsibilities

• Support with day-to-day school activities and interventions.
• Assist class teacher with behaviour management and pupil support.
• Provide additional support to children with SEND where required.

In partnership with schools in our local communities, we are proud to launch our National Teaching Assistant Programme, designed to support those who want to start a Teaching Assistant career.

Unqualified Teaching Assistant (full time, temporary)
Salford
£463 - £500 per week (salary is dependent on experience and/or qualifications)
Start date: Spetember 2026

Vision for Education work with Special Needs schools as well as alternative provisions all across Salford. We're passionate about making a positive impact in education.

The Programme

• Working alongside our client schools, we will provide the successful Unqualified Teaching Assistant with high quality training and paid on the job experience.
• Following a successful interview and pending suitability, safeguarding and identity checks, we will work to secure you a paid placement in a school to further develop your skills, you will also receive ongoing support from a dedicated consultant.

The Role

• The role of an Unqualified Teaching Assistant is vital in the day-to-day running of schools. The best Teaching Assistants have excellent communication skills and are able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff, quickly and effectively.
• Depending on the role and the school, you will be working with the class teacher to manage behaviour, support with interventions, and provide additional support to children with SEND (special educational needs and disabilities).

Requirements

• Be able to build positive relationships with children and young people.
• Be passionate about improving the outcomes for children and young people.
• Understand the crucial importance of keeping children and young people safe.
• Be able to demonstrate at interview the reasons why you want to start a career in education, and explain your understanding of the role of a Teaching Assistant and the important part they play in the school community.
• Be committed to completing the required training and participating in ongoing CPD.
• Be willing to pay for an enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service.
• Possess right to work in the UK and able to provide 2 references (one recent from education or care).
