Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Recent experience working with children or young people within the last two years.
  • Experience working with pupils with SEND, additional needs or SEMH would be highly desirable.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Excellent communication and confidence leading groups of pupils.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Professional, reliable, patient and adaptable approach.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children and young people.
  • Willingness to obtain Enhanced DBS or is held on Update Service.

Working Hours: 8.30am-3.45pm, Monday to Friday

Contract: Full-time

Milk Education are currently working with a fantastic middle school in Morpeth, supporting pupils aged 9-13, who are seeking a confident, enthusiastic and committed Unqualified Teacher to join their staff team on a full-time basis.

This role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced teaching assistants, youth workers, sports coaches, tutors, or individuals with previous experience working with children and young people who are looking to develop their classroom experience within a supportive school environment.

The school provides a positive and inclusive learning environment for pupils aged 9-13. Some pupils may have additional learning needs or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, so experience supporting children with SEND, additional needs or SEMH would be highly desirable.

As an Unqualified Teacher, you will support pupils across a range of lessons, ensuring they remain engaged, focused and on task with the work provided. You will help create a positive classroom environment, maintain high expectations of behaviour and support pupils to achieve their learning objectives.

You will work across different subject areas and year groups, gaining valuable experience within a welcoming and supportive middle school setting.

Unqualified Teacher - Key Responsibilities

Unqualified Teacher - Person Specification
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Recent experience working with children or young people within the last two years.
  • Experience working with pupils with SEND, additional needs or SEMH would be highly desirable.
  • A genuine passion for education and supporting children to reach their potential.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence leading groups of pupils.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with both pupils and staff.
  • A professional, reliable, patient and adaptable approach.
  • Confidence managing behaviour and maintaining clear boundaries.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • An Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
