Job summary

Protocol Education in Darlington is seeking confident Unqualified Supply Teachers and Cover Supervisors to support local secondary schools. No teaching qualifications required; full training provided; roles can be full-time or part-time.

You will supervise classes, deliver pre-prepared materials, maintain a positive learning environment, and follow school policies. Roles are pre-booked with some same-day work; driving licence beneficial but not essential.

Protocol Education is working in partnership with a number of welcoming and well-regarded secondary schools across Darlington to recruit enthusiastic Unqualified Supply Teachers and Cover Supervisors.

Whether you're exploring a future career in education, looking for flexible work around your current commitments, or keen to gain valuable classroom experience, this role offers an excellent opportunity to get your foot in the door of local schools with both full-time and part-time opportunities available.

No teaching qualifications or previous school experience are required, as full training and ongoing support are provided free of charge. A driving licence can be beneficial, but it's not essential.

We're looking for individuals who are confident, personable, resilient, and capable of building positive relationships with young people.

What Will You Be Doing?

As an Unqualified Supply Teacher / Cover Supervisor, you will:

• Supervise classes across KS3 and KS4 in the absence of the class teacher
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials provided by teaching staff
• Maintain a positive, focused, and productive learning environment
• Ensure students remain engaged and complete the work set
• Follow school behaviour policies and classroom procedures
• Build professional relationships with students and colleagues

You won't be expected to plan lessons or teach new content. Your role is to provide classroom supervision, maintain high standards of behaviour, and support continuity of learning.

Flexible Working Opportunities

• Work between 2 and 5 days per week
