Job summary

Experis is seeking an experienced UNIX Engineer to join a major infrastructure project. The role is focused on administration, optimisation, and migration of Oracle Solaris environments within a Hybrid setup at Barrow-in-Furness.

The contract is 3 months long with a daily rate of £550 inside IR35. You will maintain highly available UNIX platforms, support migrations, and ensure operational resilience across critical systems.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Solaris.
• Expertise in LDOM configuration and administration.
• Experience supporting Oracle T-Series hardware, including T5, T7, and T8 platforms.
• Proven background delivering UNIX migrations and upgrade projects.
• Experience with clustering technologies and high-availability solutions.
• Strong knowledge of UNIX networking, storage, and security principles.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
