Job summary

eTeam Workforce Limited in Barrow-in-Furness is seeking a UNIX Engineer to manage and support enterprise UNIX environments, with a focus on Oracle Solaris and advanced virtualization. The contract runs for three months with hybrid on-site work, 50/50, and a daily rate of £537.

You'll configure LDOMs, perform migrations, and design resilient clusters to ensure high availability, working with infrastructure and application teams while meeting security standards.

The UNIX Engineer will be responsible for managing and supporting enterprise UNIX environments, focusing on Oracle Solaris platforms and advanced virtualization technologies. This role involves system configuration, migration projects, and ensuring high availability through resilient cluster setups.

• Administer and maintain Oracle Solaris systems on T-series hardware (T5, T7, T8).
• Configure and manage LDOMs (Logical Domains) for virtualization.
• Perform system migrations and upgrades across UNIX environments.
• Design and implement resilience clusters for high availability and disaster recovery.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex UNIX issues.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to ensure seamless integration.
• Maintain compliance with security and operational standards.

Required Skills & Experience
