Job summary

Experis is seeking an experienced UNIX Engineer to join a major infrastructure programme in Barrow-in-Furness on a hybrid basis (50% onsite). The contract is 3 months with a daily rate of £550 inside IR35.

You will administer, optimise, and migrate Oracle Solaris environments, maintain highly available UNIX platforms, and support migration activities. The role requires strong Solaris, LDOM, and UNIX networking skills and a proactive approach to security and resilience.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Solaris.
• Expertise in LDOM configuration and administration.
• Experience supporting Oracle T-Series hardware, including T5, T7, and T8 platforms.
• Proven background delivering UNIX migrations and upgrade projects.
• Experience with clustering technologies and high-availability solutions.
• Strong knowledge of UNIX networking, storage, and security principles.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
