Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking an enthusiastic Uniformed Public Services Lecturer to join a college in Hull, with a start date as soon as possible.

This is a full-time role offering 35 hours per week, paying £20-£35 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. The position focuses on planning and delivering lessons across Uniformed Public Services to help learners progress into careers in policing, the armed forces, fire and rescue services and related fields.

Qualifications

  • At least a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject.
  • A recognised PGCE or Cert Ed.
  • Relevant experience in Uniformed Public Services and/or experience teaching the subject.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • A genuine passion for education and supporting students to achieve their potential.
  • Have experience working within schools in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
  • CV must cover the full CV History.
  • Legal right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and delivering engaging and effective lessons across Uniformed Public Services programmes.
  • Teaching students the knowledge and skills required for progression into uniformed public service careers.
  • Delivering both theoretical and practical learning activities.
  • Covering subjects including policing, the armed forces, fire and rescue services, security, the prison service and emergency services.
  • Supporting students with coursework, assignments, assessments and examination preparation.
  • Assessing student work and providing constructive feedback to support achievement and progression.
  • Monitoring and recording student progress, attendance and achievement.
  • Creating an inclusive, supportive and engaging learning environment.
  • Supporting students with their academic, personal and professional development.
  • Developing students' skills in areas such as teamwork, communication, leadership, discipline and resilience.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and the wider college team.
  • Ensuring teaching and learning meets relevant curriculum and awarding-body requirements.

The Role
