Job summary

AEGIS London is seeking an Assistant Underwriter to support and diversify the portfolio within a small, collaborative team. The role involves underwriting delegated authority and treaty business, with administrative duties including bordereaux management and risk oversight.

The candidate will work closely with Exposure Management, Credit Control, Actuarial, and Compliance functions, with opportunities to grow underwriting authority as experience develops.

Qualifications

• Experience in Lloyd's and/or London Market environment.
• Experience with delegated authority, binding authorities or lineslips would be advantageous.
• Exposure to reinsurance or portfolio-based underwriting products would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite delegated authority and treaty business within approved guidelines.
• Review and process submissions, renewals, endorsements and new business opportunities.
• Monitor delegated authority, reinsurance arrangements and related data queries.
• Liaise with internal teams (Exposure Management, Credit Control, Actuarial, Compliance, Operations, Claims).
• Provide portfolio monitoring, MI, and ad hoc analysis.
• Support client service to brokers and clients with travel as needed.
• Perform ad hoc duties and collaborate across AEGIS London team.
