Your new company: Your new company is one of the largest MGAs in the UK, with offices across the country. They specialise in SME to mid-market Property & Casualty insurance and maintain excellent relationships with their broker panel, focusing on client-centric underwriting strategies. Due to expansion within the Existing Business team, a position for a Trading Underwriting Assistant has arisen. This role is based in Manchester.
Your new role: As a Trading Underwriting Assistant, you will develop and maintain strong broker relationships by delivering outstanding customer service and managing renewals efficiently. You will collaborate proactively with your team and manager to help establish and grow the new Manchester Centre of Excellence. Your duties will include handling broker and client requests such as renewal queries, mid-term adjustments, and cancellations; collaborating with team members; fostering relationships with stakeholders; and taking ownership of large renewal cases. Additionally, you will operate within your delegated underwriting authority and proactively identify opportunities to improve processes.
What you'll need to succeed: Previous experience in a service-oriented industry and knowledge of good customer outcomes will aid your success. You should be self-motivated, friendly, possess strong relationship-building skills, be quick to learn, and capable of working well within a team and meeting deadlines. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. The ability to perform under pressure, problem-solve, and ideally hold Cert CII qualification are also desirable.
