This position is within Specialty Underwriting Services, part of our Operations team. The team works closely with Underwriters based in Hannover, supporting multiple lines of business including Property, Energy, and Liability. This role suits someone with experience or interest in the Insurance industry and an operational role.
The role
- Manage the policy lifecycle, ensuring accurate data entry into HGS underwriting and financial systems, and provide high service levels to the business and Hannover Re Underwriters.
- Ensure business is written in accordance with HGS underwriting guidelines and business plan.
- Service Hannover Reinsurance Underwriters, HDI Underwriters, and brokers.
Key accountabilities
- Manage team mailbox, process quotes, endorsements, and slips.
- Transfer underwriting information and correspondence into the document management system (Doxis).
- Data entry using ENora system on behalf of the team.
- Follow efficient workflow processes from start to finish.
Data Quality
- Monitor and review Policy data input to eNora, ensuring compliance with data quality protocols via the Approval Gate.
- Maintain individual error rates in line with company standards.
Managing Relationships
- Support the underwriting services team by delivering high-quality service to the business, underwriters, and brokers.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with underwriters and brokers by providing excellent service.
Risk and Controls
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and compliance checks within underwriting guidelines, adhering to local and group standards.
- Implement and maintain process controls, ensuring documentation is accurate and accessible.
Process Improvement
- Suggest process improvements within your role.
- Participate in underwriting projects to enhance service and system effectiveness.
Credit Control
- Reconcile and investigate accounting queries as needed.
Reporting
- Assist with team KPI reporting and run/check reports as required.
Additional activities
- Analyze data and prepare reports for underwriters.
- Support other functional activities and project work.
Skills & experience
- Experience in insurance operations, underwriting support, claims, or administrative roles.
- Knowledge of London Market practices is desirable but not essential.
- Working towards CII qualifications or similar is desirable but not essential.
