I am currently recruiting for a leading Lloyd's Syndicate seeking a Property Facultative Underwriter to join their growing team.
My client looks for someone with 4+ years of experience underwriting Property business from a Facultative perspective. The role focuses on international business and writing on an XOL basis, but experience with primary business is also welcomed. The team consists of 6 members, with a heavy fire severe book.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in creating and implementing the business plan for the portfolio.
• Support the execution of the business plan and participate in strategy meetings.
• Promote the department and company to maximize brand exposure.
• Implement reinsurance strategies to protect the portfolio.
• Manage complex reinsurance activities complying with legal and regulatory standards.
• Follow underwriting standards and best practices to minimize risk.
• Record and assess insurance risks accurately, including Delegated Underwriting Authorities, and develop policy wordings as needed.
• Apply reinsurance requirements to meet business goals.
• Enhance technical knowledge through ongoing learning opportunities.
• Underwrite complex risks within delegated authority, negotiate rates and terms, and ensure compliance.
• Review and analyze the portfolio to monitor progress towards business objectives.
• Ensure risks are peer-reviewed and compliant with underwriting standards and authorities.
