New Vacancy - Senior Underwriter (Property Facultative)

I am currently recruiting for a leading Lloyd's Syndicate seeking a Property Facultative Underwriter to join their growing team.
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience underwriting Property business from a Facultative perspective. The role focuses on international business and writing on an XOL basis, but experience with primary insurance is also considered.
This position is part of a team of 6, managing a heavy fire severe book.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in creating and implementing the business plan for the portfolio.
• Support the execution of the business plan and participate in strategy meetings.
• Promote the department and company to enhance brand exposure.
• Implement reinsurance strategies to safeguard the portfolio.
• Execute complex reinsurance activities complying with legal and regulatory standards.
• Follow underwriting standards and best practices to minimize risk.
• Accurately record and assess risks, including Delegated Underwriting Authorities, and develop or adjust policy wordings as needed.
• Apply reinsurance requirements to mitigate risks and meet business goals.
• Engage in continuous learning to enhance technical expertise.
• Underwrite complex risks, negotiate rates and terms, ensure compliance, and contribute to business planning and credit control.
• Review and analyze portfolio performance to ensure alignment with objectives.
• Ensure risks are thoroughly peer-reviewed and comply with underwriting standards and authorities.
