Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC is seeking an Underwriter for Professional Indemnity in City of London on a permanent, 35-hour week with hybrid working (minimum four days in the office). The role focuses on renewals, new risks, quotations and broker relationships within an SME market, not Lloyd's.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years in a similar role with strong PI underwriting knowledge, excellent communication, IT skills, and the ability to manage workloads and deadlines.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years experience in a similar role.
• A high level of technical PI underwriting knowledge.
• Minimum of 3 A levels at Grade C or above (or equivalent).
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to underpin broker development and relationship building.
• A high level of IT literacy, including Word and Excel.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Ability to organise workload and priorities and work to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide service to brokers / Clients on all Classes underwritten.
• Underwriting of risks within authority and referral of risks outside of authority.
• Take underwriting referrals once appropriate authority level attained and provide necessary support / training.
• Handling referrals and queries from the HCC online system within service levels.
• Monitoring of Broker Accounts / Performance within Team.
• Assist in compiling and presenting training sessions.
• Attending in house / external training sessions and actively maintaining own training record.
• Dealing with Brokers within required service levels.
• Dealing with underwriting administration e.g. production of policy documents, accounts queries etc.
• Broker development, actively meeting with Brokers to develop business.
• Undertake any other ad hoc activities / project work as required.

Job Purpose

This role would be well suited for an Underwriter or Assistant Underwriter who is dedicated and keen to make an impact on a market leading team.
