Job summary

Abound, a UK fintech redefining consumer lending, is seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our underwriting team. You will assess credit risk using Open Banking data and ensure decisions align with policies and regulatory requirements.

You should have at least two years of unsecured lending underwriting experience, strong analytical skills, and attention to detail. We offer a competitive bonus scheme up to 20% and a hybrid working model with three days in the office.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years' proven underwriting experience, ideally in unsecured lending.
• Strong understanding of fraud, AML, and customer vulnerability indicators.
• High attention to detail and ability to make sound decisions under time pressure.

Responsibilities

• Assess unsecured credit applications using Open Banking data and CRA information to evaluate creditworthiness.
• Perform fraud prevention and AML checks in line with regulatory requirements.
• Manage and progress your own underwriting pipeline to meet turnaround targets.
• Liaise with customers to obtain and verify information as required.
• Contribute to ongoing development and improvement of underwriting processes.
