Job summary

Abound is seeking a Senior Underwriter for its Unsecured Lending product in the UK. You will lead the underwriting team, assess credit decisions with a strong regulatory mindset, and drive performance across the function.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of two years’ underwriting experience, a solid grasp of targets, data analysis, and fraud/AML considerations. The role offers hybrid work and growth opportunities within a fast-paced fintech.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years’ proven experience as an underwriter, preferably in a senior role.
• Strong understanding of targets, how to reach them and help others.
• Proficiency in data analysis and evaluation.
• Developed understanding of fraud/AML, customer vulnerabilities and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Use in-house technology that blends traditional lending with Open Banking analysis.
• Lead from the Front as part of underwriting management.
• Provide guidance to junior underwriters and assist in training.
• Monitor industry regulations and stay updated on changes affecting underwriting decisions.
• Maintain quality control and give feedback to improve processes.
• Opportunity to work on new products beyond unsecured lending.
