About the Role

Our client, a leading global insurer, is expanding its UK Motor team and is seeking a Motor Fleet Underwriter to support the continued growth of its regional portfolio. Based primarily in Manchester, this newly created role offers the chance to work on a diverse range of motor fleet risks—including conventional and semi-conventional exposures—while developing strategic relationships with key trading partners in the region.

This role offers a hybrid working model, with flexible arrangements and occasional travel to Leeds.

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite motor fleet risks in line with underwriting strategy and personal authority
• Build and manage broker and client relationships to drive regional growth
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to share insight and promote best practices
• Ensure underwriting activities comply with internal standards and external regulations
• Remain up to date with market trends and cycle awareness to support commercial goals
• Positively represent the business to maximise visibility and brand strength

About You

• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of key profitability drivers
• Confident communicator and negotiator with broker and client-facing experience
• Comfortable working with Excel and relevant underwriting systems
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements
• A proactive team player with an analytical mindset and flexible approach
