The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Underwriter to join our growing team in Manchester. You’ll assess and manage loan applications from start to finish, ensuring every deal meets our criteria while moving at the pace our clients need. You’ll be working directly with brokers and solicitors, spotting potential risks, and structuring deals that work for everyone involved.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and underwrite bridging loan applications in line with company policy and criteria
• Review legal and valuation reports and raise appropriate enquiries
• Communicate effectively with brokers, solicitors, and internal teams
• Make informed decisions based on risk, security, and exit strategy
• Contribute to process improvements and help shape internal underwriting procedures

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in underwriting (bridging finance strongly preferred)
• Strong understanding of property-based lending, including development and BTL deals
• Excellent risk assessment and decision-making skills
• Confidence communicating with stakeholders at all levels
• Ability to manage multiple cases without dropping the ball
• Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance practices
