Job summary

ICL Group is recruiting an Underground Shift Manager to lead all underground operations on shift, ensuring safety, compliance, and production targets are met. You will act as on-site Head of Mining and coordinate across safety, production, and technical teams to deliver plans safely.

The role demands substantial experience in heavy industry, strong leadership, and a proven track record of improving safety and reliability in mining.

Qualifications

• Degree in mining/engineering or equivalent with supervisory experience.
• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
• CMS or equivalent management qualification.
• IOM3 membership or similar professional body.

Responsibilities

• Safety: manage the safety, health, and welfare of all personnel on shift.
• Planning & Operational Delivery: coordinate resources to deliver the operations plan.
• Manage and Lead: provide visible leadership and supervise Overseers on shift.
• Decision Making & Problem Solving: make real-time operational decisions.
• Operational Parameters: prepare pre-shift plans and ensure effective handovers.
• Communication: convey priorities and risks across teams and report significant events.
• Performance & Continuous Improvement: monitor KPIs and drive safety and productivity improvements.
• Information Management: use data to guide decisions and maintain records and systems.
