Job summary

MBDA UK Ltd is offering a 1-year Software Engineer placement starting September 2027 in Stevenage. You will work on real-world software for weapons systems, involving embedded and front-end development, primarily in C/C++ with exposure to Ada, C#, and Python on Windows and Linux.

Qualifications

• Current undergraduate working towards a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or relevant Engineering field (incl. Aeronautical/Aerospace, Mathematics, Physics)
• Programming in C/C++ with exposure to other languages as per team
• Willingness to learn DevOps and software lifecycle practices

Responsibilities

• Work with teams across various development stages for embedded and front-end software on Windows and Linux (C/C++ with potential Ada, C#, Python)
• Contribute to functional and technical robustness of project deliverables
• Learn and apply technical documentation and collaborate across departments
