Job summary

MBDA in Stevenage is offering a 10 week Software Engineer placement starting June 2027. The role covers embedded and front-end software across Windows and Linux using C, C++ and related languages.

You will gain exposure to the software development lifecycle and documentation, with potential for a graduate role after the placement. Applicants should be undergraduates in Software Engineering, CS or related fields.

Qualifications

• Current undergraduate working towards a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or relevant Engineering field (incl. Aeronautical/Aerospace, Mathematics, Physics)
• MBDA is a leading defence organisation; exposure to embedded and frontend software environments may occur

Responsibilities

• Exposure to various development stages within weapons systems or research projects, including embedded and frontend software on Windows/Linux using C/C++ (with potential ADA, C#, Python)
• Learn about functional and technical robustness of project deliverables and the importance of technical documentation
• Collaborate with other departments to gain a broad business overview
