Job summary

Rhode Island Hospital is seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist to perform complex diagnostic ultrasound exams across neonatal to geriatric patients. The role requires ARDMS registration or eligibility, current CPR, and strong anatomy knowledge.

You will work with radiologists to provide accurate imaging and analysis. The position involves obstetric and vascular studies, adherence to safety standards, and collaboration with surgeons and clinical teams.

Qualifications

• High school graduation with allied health training and two years ultrasound experience.
• ARDMS registration required for experienced Sonographer; new graduates must obtain within 6 months of hire date.
• Current CPR certification.
• Must be able to sit, stand and lift 50 lbs with good body mechanics.
• Good depth perception and hearing; visual and manual dexterity required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates understanding of Hospital's Mission, Vision and Values.
• Completes mandatory education: hospital-wide, department-specific, job-specific.
• Maintains patient safety and comfort during exams and adheres to Customer Service Standards.
• Performs routine abdominal, gallbladder, renal, aorta, and spleen exams across age groups.
• Performs obstetric, pelvic and small part scans; assists with biopsies and procedures.
• Operates ultrasound equipment with Doppler and vascular capabilities and reviews cases with radiologists.
