Job summary

ROSE & YOUNG RECRUITMENT LTD is recruiting a Diamond Turning Technician to manufacture precision components using single point diamond turning and CNC lathes. You will read drawings, set up tooling, and ensure micron tolerances and high surface finishes.

The role demands ownership from setup through to final inspection, strict quality control, and adherence to SOPs. Working alternate shifts, you will contribute to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.

Qualifications

Experience setting and operating single point diamond turning or CNC lathe machinery.
Experience manufacturing components to micron and sub-micron tolerances.
Experience producing high quality surface finishes to tight tolerances.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Experience using precision metrology and inspection equipment.
Strong understanding of ultra-precision machining principles and process control.
Experience working with SOPs and process sheets.
Knowledge of TPM, maintenance requirements and preventative measures.

Responsibilities

Set, operate and optimise Diamond Turning machines to manufacture precision components.
Interpret drawings, specifications and manufacturing documentation accurately.
Manufacture components to micron and sub-micron tolerances.
Install tooling, fixtures and machine parameters for production.
Verify set-up and process parameters before manufacturing.
Produce first-off components and conduct in-process inspections.
Monitor machine performance and adjust processes to maintain quality.
Inspect finished components using precision metrology equipment.
Carry out inspections per standards and customer requirements.
Identify non-conformances and escalate as needed.
Complete process sheets and production documentation accurately.
Maintain full product traceability throughout the process.
Follow SOPs and approved manufacturing processes.
Work independently and as part of a fabrication team.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality and yield.
Support Continuous Improvement and Lean manufacturing activities.
Report equipment issues and quality problems promptly.
Comply with health, safety and environmental procedures.
