Job summary

King’s College London is seeking a Manager for the UKRI CDT in Safe and Trusted Artificial Intelligence. This internal secondment opportunity supports governance, budgeting and delivery of complex research‑training programmes in London.

The role requires experience in postgraduate research administration, stakeholder engagement, and strong analytical skills, with responsibility for coordinating across internal and external partners.

About you: To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

• First degree or other appropriate qualifications
• Demonstrable experience of managing a varied workload, balancing competing priorities and delivering accurate outputs to multiple deadlines
• Experience of building effective working relationships and influencing a range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve programme or organisational objectives
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally
• Demonstrable experience of independently managing operational processes, identifying improvements and resolving issues using sound judgement
• Experience of programme governance and project management, including planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting and delivery of complex activities, preferably within a higher education or research environment
• Experience and confidence in handling multiple, complex budgets – excellent analytical and numeracy skills
• Knowledge of postgraduate research administration and funding, including an understanding of doctoral training programmes, studentships and/or UKRI-funded activity

Desirable criteria

• Postgraduate level qualification; a management qualification
• Knowledge of university student and finance data systems; content management systems (website); external UKRI database (Studentships Data System)
• Experience in developing communication strategies, such as effective use of social media and websites
• Experience of working with UKRI/EPSRC-funded programmes or doctoral training partnerships
