Job summary

Hiscox UK is seeking a Strategy Manager to support the UK Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO). The role is an advisory, executive-facing position that shapes priorities, decision flow and governance, working closely with UKLT and GEC to maximise impact.

You will translate underwriting and portfolio insights into clear narratives, manage risks and opportunities, and coordinate leadership rhythm across the function. This is a high-exposure, strategic role based in London with hybrid working.

Qualifications

• Experience operating in or alongside a senior leadership or executive environment.
• Strong commercial acumen with ability to understand underwriting, portfolio and risk concepts quickly.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; distil complexity into executive messages.
• Proven ability to manage ambiguity, competing priorities and sensitive information with professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Act as trusted thought-partner to the CUO, shaping agenda, priorities and decision flow.
• Lead and deliver briefing papers, recommendations and executive materials for UKLT, ULT, GEC and Board forums.
• Translate complex underwriting, portfolio and market insights into clear, decision-ready narratives.
• Identify risks, dependencies and opportunities for the CUO.
