UK Transport Manager Role

Reporting to the Operations Director, this newly created position is vital for CHH’s successful service delivery to its UK customers. The successful candidate can be based within easy commute from Birmingham or Chesterfield.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage a team of drivers across multiple sites within CHH’s distribution network.
2. Supervise shipments and schedule routes across the UK from Birmingham and Chesterfield sites.
3. Plan operations and manage overhead and personnel requirements.
4. Manage staff involved in transportation activities such as dispatching, routing, and tracking.
5. Monitor transportation costs, maintain records, license checks, and training.
6. Coordinate assets and operations for transportation.
7. Ensure all vehicles are properly maintained and fit for purpose.
8. Ensure drivers comply with all legislation.
9. Manage key contacts within our customer base.
10. Identify areas of improvement and implement strategies.
11. Monitor and audit Health & Safety compliance, creating risk assessments and safe systems of work.
12. Produce and present KPIs, setting and measuring financial and operational improvements.

Essential Skills and Attributes

• Recent experience as a Transport Manager and holding a CPC qualification.
• Strong understanding of legal compliance, drivers’ hours, and WTD.
• Highly organized and efficient.
• IT literate, capable of using data for reporting and decision-making.
• Experienced in managing customer relationships.
• Proven leadership and people development skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Agile problem-solver capable of providing quick solutions.
