Job description

Join our team as a Transport Shift Manager at Wincanton, working within our Group Transport sector for our customer Sainsbury's, based at Hams Hall, Birmingham. You will lead a team of Transport Team Managers, Clerical staff, and Drivers to meet delivery, productivity, and financial performance targets, contributing to the overall depot management to deliver business objectives and provide best-in-class service to our customer.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for leadership in managing transport labor and assets, ensuring transport productivity levels, and meeting departmental targets to ensure timely and accurate deliveries to stores.

The position operates on a three-week rota: 5 days, 4 nights, and 5 days, with flexibility required to cover peak days.

Responsibilities include:

• Communicating clearly with internal and external stakeholders.
• Encouraging team feedback and ideas to improve practices and environment.
• Fostering positive relationships with unions and representatives.
• Driving continuous improvement and maintaining high standards and integrity.
• Leading, coaching, and developing the team.
• Ensuring delivery of productivity and KPI targets within transport.
• Achieving on-time deliveries while adhering to H&S standards.

Qualifications and experience required:
