Job summary

Pen Underwriting UK is seeking a Technical Underwriting Manager to provide technical leadership within the Risk Managed division. You will own the product suite, embed underwriting standards, and deliver financial performance alongside insurer targets through robust frameworks and governance.

You will lead an underwriting team, collaborate with brokers and insurers, and drive continuous improvement in underwriting systems while ensuring compliance across the business.

Qualifications

• Proven underwriting leadership experience within a defined line of business and delegated authority environments.
• Strong track record of delivering against financial targets and managing performance.
• Excellent analytical capability to interpret KPIs and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and influence technical performance to deliver P&L objectives.
• Develop robust underwriting frameworks, guidelines and rating structures.
• Collaborate across functions to ensure compliance and governance in delegated authority.
• Coach and develop underwriting teams for future growth and market opportunities.
• Ensure adherence to service standards and effective handling of complaints.
