Job summary

Reed Specialist Recruitment is assisting a growing international food business in the UK to appoint a Technical Manager/Technical Lead. You will lead the UK technical function, ensuring compliance, supplier relations and product standards across a diverse product portfolio, reporting to senior leadership.

The role suits an experienced Technical Manager or a Technical Lead ready for a broader leadership position, with responsibility for audits, supplier approvals and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong food industry technical and compliance experience.
• Good knowledge of retailer standards and customer requirements.
• HACCP and food safety expertise.
• Experience managing audits and compliance programmes.
• Knowledge of BRC requirements.
• Experience reviewing specifications and technical documentation.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Previous leadership experience or the desire to step into a management role.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the technical function and technical team.
• Manage product compliance, specifications and technical documentation.
• Build strong relationships with customers, retailers and suppliers.
• Oversee supplier approval, product assurance and compliance programmes.
• Support NPD projects and product launches.
• Manage audits and ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement across technical systems and processes.
• Act as the technical lead for customer enquiries and technical issues.
