Job summary

Reed Specialist Recruitment Ltd is hiring a Technical Manager or Technical Lead for a successful international food business, to own the UK technical function. You will lead compliance, supplier quality and technical standards across a diverse product portfolio, reporting to senior leadership.

Based in the UK, this office-based role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5pm. The salary ranges from £40,000 to £60,000 with benefits, and you will collaborate with suppliers, customers and internal teams to

Qualifications

• Experience in food manufacturing and/or ingredients.
• Knowledge of retailer standards and customer requirements.
• HACCP and food safety expertise.
• Experience managing audits and compliance programmes.
• Knowledge of BRC requirements.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Leadership experience or aspiration to manage a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the technical function and team.
• Manage product compliance, specifications and technical documentation.
• Build relationships with customers, retailers and suppliers.
• Oversee supplier approval and compliance programmes.
• Support NPD projects and product launches.
• Manage audits and comply with customer and regulatory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement across technical systems and processes.
• Act as technical lead for customer enquiries and issues.
