Job summary

PE Global is recruiting a UK Statutory Reporting Accountant for a leading global energy technology company based in Aberdeen. This full-time, 12-month contract offers hybrid working with 3 days onsite.

You will prepare and review statutory accounts for UK entities under UK GAAP (FRS 102), liaise with auditors, and drive improvements in financial reporting processes. Requires ICAS/ACCA/CIMA and audit/statutory reporting experience.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant (ICAS/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent.
• Experience of audit.
• Experience within a statutory reporting role.
• Technical ability to prepare, review and ensure accuracy and completeness of all work delivered by the Department and Company.
• Experience of interpreting and applying accounting and regulatory guidance.
• Strong track record in improving financial reporting processes, including effective use of technology.
• Profound knowledge of UK and US GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the audit function for the consolidation of the main company together with a number of other UK companies, including preparation and approval of audit packs.
• Prepare statutory accounts and disclosures in line with FRS 102.
• Identify and calculate statutory adjustments on conversion from US to UK GAAP.
• Communicate with ledger controllers on audit requirements and provide guidance on technical accounting issues.
• Ensure key issues are identified timely with escalation and resolution pathways.
• Communicate with external auditors.
• Assist in drafting management papers for the audit and ad-hoc technical accounting projects.
• Maintain awareness of statutory accounting & reporting developments to ensure compliance and quality.
• Complete business survey questionnaires issued by the Office of National Statistics.
• Review systems and procedures for statutory reporting to maintain high standards.
• Potential to work on other European statutory audits when appropriate.
• Assist with ad-hoc transfer pricing activities and other analyses.
• Prepare any ad-hoc reporting as required by Europe Finance Management.

PE Global is currently recruiting for a UK Statutory reporting Accountant for a leading global energy technology company based in Aberdeen.

This is a full time position for 12 months with a company based in Aberdeen. This role allows for hybrid working, with 3 days onsite.

About the role

As the UK Statutory Reporting Accountant you will be part of a busy Finance Team, working closely with external auditors and playing a key role in the delivery of an effective and efficient external audit. You will be responsible for the preparation and review of the statutory accounts and delivery of all aspects of financial accounting for a number of large UK entities, with presence in numerous countries. You must have excellent understanding and knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102).

Duties of the role/Responsibilities
