Job summary

Goodman Masson is recruiting an experienced Financial Reporting Contractor to join an established global financial services business in London. The role focuses on year-end statutory reporting, group consolidations and managing external audits, with hands-on preparation and review responsibilities.

The ideal candidate is a fully qualified accountant with UK GAAP/FRS 102 expertise, capable of working independently to meet tight deadlines and collaborate with Finance, Tax and Legal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant with UK GAAP and FRS 102 experience.
• Strong hands-on experience preparing statutory FS and managing year-end audits.
• Experience with consolidated group accounts across multiple entities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of year-end statutory accounts for the consolidated group and UK entities.
• Prepare and review consolidated financial statements and supporting workpapers.
• Ensure disclosures comply with UK GAAP/FRS 102.
• Manage the year-end external audit process as main point of contact for auditors.
• Prepare and review audit schedules, reconciliations and documentation.
• Research technical accounting matters and prepare technical papers as required.
• Partner with Finance, Tax, Legal and other stakeholders to meet reporting deadlines.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes, controls and efficiencies.

Job description

We are recruiting for an experienced Financial Reporting Contractor to join an established global financial services business, supporting the delivery of year-end statutory reporting and external audits.

This is a hands‑on role requiring a technically strong, qualified accountant who can independently manage the preparation of statutory financial statements, group consolidations and the year‑end audit process.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation of year-end statutory accounts for the consolidated group and multiple UK entities
• Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, including consolidation adjustments and supporting workpapers
• Ensure financial statements and disclosures comply with UK GAAP, particularly FRS 102
• Manage the year-end external audit process, acting as the main point of contact for auditors and resolving queries
• Prepare and review audit schedules, reconciliations and supporting documentation
• Research technical accounting matters, reviewing accounting policies and preparing technical papers where required
• Partner with Finance, Tax, Legal and other stakeholders to ensure reporting deadlines are met.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes, controls and efficiencies

Experience required:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Strong hands‑on experience preparing statutory financial statements and managing year‑end audits
• Excellent technical knowledge of UK GAAP and FRS 102
• Experience preparing consolidated group accounts and working across multiple entities
• Strong technical accounting and financial statement disclosure experience
• Ability to work independently, manage competing deadlines and deliver with minimal supervision
• Previous experience within financial services, asset management or a regulated environment would be advantageous
• Big 4 or Top 10 audit backgrounds will also be considered, provided candidates have strong hands‑on financial statement preparation experience
