This opportunity is within a well-known business in the financial services sector, and my client provide a wide range of financial products and services to both individuals and businesses, with a strong focus on innovation and digital banking. The company operates as part of a medium-sized team within its payroll function which is split across two different countries; the UK payroll team being based in Northampton.
Job Description
- Oversee a team of 7 people
- Support the achievement of the Global Payroll strategy, you will partner with the Service Strategy and Transformation Team to ensure any changes to processes and systems are managed appropriately
- Deliver the monthly UK Payroll on time, accurately, and in compliance with all relevant requirements, including controls, policies, SLAs, regulations, and legislation.
- Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls
- Ensure timely resolution of escalated and/or complex issues, requests for exceptions to standard processes and service delivery issues
The Successful Applicant
A successful UK Payroll Lead should have:
- Extensive experience of payroll administration and support, with experience at expertise level
- Demonstrated leadership experience with a proven ability to lead and inspire teams.
- Chartered Institute of Payroll and Pensions (CIPP) level 5 qualifications or equivalent.
- Decision making that takes accountability of policy, legislation, operational performance and the wider team deliverables.
- Influence and negotiate at senior management level.
- Maturity and experience of handling complex and challenging situations.
- Evaluating and implementing/or rejecting proposed operational change.
- Proven and demonstrable success at driving process and procedural change initiatives- from conception, design to implementation.
