Job summary

AAB in Bolton is seeking an experienced UK Payroll Manager to lead the payroll delivery for SME clients. You will oversee day-to-day payroll activities, coordinate with the CSS team and QX, and ensure deadlines and service levels are met.

You will coach and develop Client Success Specialists, manage client relationships, and drive process improvements while maintaining a strong commercial awareness and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering payroll services for SME clients.
• Experience leading and developing teams.
• Experience managing payroll client portfolios and stakeholder relationships.
• Experience with outsourced or offshore delivery models.
• Experience handling complex payroll queries and client escalations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day payroll delivery for SME clients across the portfolio.
• Maintain oversight of payroll processing and ensure quality standards.
• Coach and develop Client Success Specialists to high performance.
• Coordinate payroll activities between clients, CSS, and QX for on-time payrolls.
• Manage workload, resources and service priorities for efficiency.
• Maintain regular client communication and service review meetings.
