Job summary

AECOM in the UK & Ireland seeks a Head of Architecture & Design to set the strategic direction, drive growth, and ensure design excellence across studios. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams spanning architecture, master planning, landscape and interiors, aligning design quality with business objectives and client expectations.

The role emphasizes market leadership, major pursuits, talent development, and the adoption of BIM, digital twins and sustainable design.

Qualifications

• Chartered Architect with ARB/RIBA Part III or equivalent.
• Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary design teams at senior/director level.
• Strong commercial acumen with P&L experience.
• Proven business development and client relationship management experience.
• Experience with BIM and digital design workflows.

Responsibilities

• Define and deliver the strategic vision for the Architecture & Design practice across the UK & Ireland.
• Lead architecture, master planning, landscape and interior design teams across multiple studios.
• Drive market positioning, major pursuits and proposal strategies with Work Winning teams.
• Oversee financial performance, resource planning and delivery standards.
• Foster talent development, accreditation and career progression.
• Champion digital tools, sustainability and innovation in design workflows.
