Job summary

Leo Cancer Care is seeking an experienced UK HR Generalist to partner with managers, coach people decisions, and manage the full employee lifecycle from onboarding to exit. This hands-on role combines strong HR judgement with operational delivery and UK payroll support.

You will own BambooHR for the UK, ensure compliance with UK employment law, and work with the wider HR team to balance staff needs with business goals in a scale-up environment.

Qualifications

• CIPD Level 5 or above preferred; significant HR experience may substitute for formal qualification.
• Proven generalist HR experience in hands-on, standalone or small-team environments.
• Working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Experience supporting a manufacturing, engineering, or operational workforce.
• Demonstrated ability to balance commercial pragmatism with genuine care for people.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain BambooHR for the UK, employee records, workflows, absence tracking, onboarding/offboarding, and reporting.
• Manage the full employee lifecycle from offer letter to exit interview, ensuring a positive experience.
• Maintain up-to-date employment contracts, policies, and HR documentation in line with UK employment law.
• Track and manage absence, holiday, and leave entitlements, including pro-ration for part-time staff.
• Provide HR support and coaching to line managers on performance, disciplinaries, grievances, and absence management.
