Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) seeks an HPC & AI Application Performance Engineer to optimise complex HPC/AI workloads. You will analyse applications, identify performance opportunities, and collaborate with R&D to resolve issues across EMEA and LATAM. You’ll engage with customers on-site in the UK and remotely for broader regional projects.

You will lead technical workshops, contribute to bids, and drive adoption of best practices in performance engineering and scalable computing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Science, Tech, Eng, Math or related field.
• UK citizenship with ability to obtain security clearances for UK environments.
• Strong HPC/AI architectures, software environments, and performance analysis techniques.
• Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues with Eng/R&D teams.
• Programming in C, C++, or Fortran; strong Python skills.
• GPU programming with CUDA/OpenACC/OpenMP Offload.
• Knowledge of MPI and OpenMP.
• Familiarity with build systems, scripting, and batch processing.
• Experience using performance profiling and optimisation tools.
• Strong communication skills and fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical expertise to major HPE HPC/AI environments in EMEA/LATAM.
• On-site with UK customers and remote with wider region.
• Analyse applications/workloads to identify performance, optimization, and scalability opportunities.
• Investigate complex software/infrastructure issues; liaise between support and R&D.
• Support large-scale HPC/AI bids and tenders with technical input.
• Deliver workshops, training, and presentations for customers and colleagues.
• Share knowledge and best practices across the team and community.
• Contribute to development of tools, methodologies, and research initiatives.
