Job summary

tk accelis is seeking a Head of Health and Safety to lead and embed a proactive Safety First culture across its UK operations. This highly visible, hands-on role requires regular travel to sites nationwide, coaching leaders, and ensuring practical safety standards on the shop floor, warehouses and offices.

You will set the UK health and safety strategy, advise senior leaders, and drive continuous improvements while maintaining compliance with Health and Safety at Work etc.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent professional health and safety qualification.
• Experience leading health and safety across multiple UK sites.
• Experience in manufacturing, warehousing or logistics environments.
• Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation and practical application.
• Experience developing H&S strategies, policies and management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and continuously improve our UK health, safety and wellbeing strategy.
• Act as senior competent person for health and safety; advise leaders and managers.
• Maintain a strong presence across UK sites; visit production, warehouse and office locations.
• Champion our Safety First approach; embed safety in daily decisions and routines.
• Ensure compliance with UK H&S legislation (Health and Safety at Work Act, PUWER, COSHH, DSE, RIDDOR).
• Develop and maintain policies, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Coach site leaders and safety representatives to build local ownership.
• Oversee incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
