Job summary

ICE is recruiting a Field Service Engineer to repair and service a range of industrial cleaning equipment across the UK. This field-based role allows you to work from home with travel to customer sites, diagnosing faults and performing maintenance to agreed SLAs.

You will use diagnostic tools, update our central database, and report on site visits while upholding safety standards and delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Relevant certifications or training in industrial equipment repair and maintenance.
• Full UK manual driving licence essential.
• Proficiency in diagnosing, servicing, and repairing industrial cleaning equipment such as vacuums, pressure washers, scrubbers and sweepers.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
• Ability to interpret manuals, schematics and diagrams to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement repair solutions.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficient in using diagnostic instruments, hand tools and power tools.
• Familiarity with safety protocols and regulatory requirements governing industrial equipment servicing and maintenance.
• Previous experience in servicing and repairing industrial cleaning equipment.
• Demonstrated field service engineering experience.
• Experience with preventive maintenance practices and maintenance schedules.
• Exposure to providing technical support and training to customers or colleagues.
• Strong physical condition for manual handling (e.g., lifting heavy equipment).
• Proficient IT skills, including tablet devices.
• Experience with IC engines (petrol, diesel, LPG).

Responsibilities

• Provide quality support to customers through courteous and knowledgeable communication.
• Attend and complete all repairs within the contracted service level agreement.
• Attend follow up calls to complete repairs where parts have been ordered.
• Carry out scheduled planned maintenance services as instructed.
• Attend all PA Test calls on time.
• Maintain high standard of service and repair on machinery.
• Ensure Health and Safety rules are adhered to at all times.
• Follow technician procedures and ensure they are understood.
• Update all jobs in SERVICESMARTPro (SSP) in real time.
• Provide accurate and detailed reports after every site visit.
• Order parts via the system to complete breakdown calls.
• Manage van stock and re-ordering levels.
• Help develop more efficient systems of work.
• Regularly review vehicle conditions and keep tidy.
• Attend service and business review meetings.
