Job summary

Room to Read is seeking an experienced fundraising leader to drive revenue and growth across the UK and Europe. You will set regional strategy, manage a major gifts portfolio, and oversee events and partnerships to deliver multi-million-pound results.

You will directly cultivate and close high-value gifts, partner with boards and volunteers, and lead a small distributed team. The role requires strong strategic judgment, rigorous forecasting, and the ability to translate strategy into measurable

Qualifications

• 10+ years of fundraising or business development experience with revenue targets.
• Proven success securing six- and seven-figure gifts from individuals, foundations, or corporates.
• Track record of personally securing $3MM+ annually.
• Experience managing donor portfolios, pipelines, and forecasting.
• Experience working with boards and senior stakeholders to secure funding.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver UK/Europe revenue targets across major gifts, partnerships, and events.
• Manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects, driving significant gifts.
• Lead donor engagement, cultivation, and stewardship strategies.
• Maintain pipeline discipline with prospecting through close and proactive risk management.
• Oversee forecasting, performance reporting, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Develop and lead a small, distributed team to execute plans and priorities.
