Job summary

Robinhood is recruiting a Chief Compliance Officer to lead the UK Risk & Compliance team from our London office. You will oversee the FCA-aligned compliance framework, advise senior management on regulatory obligations for investments and crypto, and act as primary liaison with the FCA and other authorities.

The role requires SMF16 approval or ability to obtain it and sits in a highly visible, cross-functional setting.

Qualifications

• Based in the United Kingdom.
• 10+ years of regulatory compliance experience within a FCA-regulated firm.
• Approval as, or ability to obtain, FCA Senior Management Function SMF16.
• Strong knowledge of the FCA Handbook, Consumer Duty, UK Money Laundering Regulations and SM&CR.
• Experience managing FCA Supervisory and Authorisations interactions and regulatory reporting.
• Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.
• Pragmatic, risk-based approach to compliance.
• Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in an international team environment and coordinating cross-functional projects.
• Knowledge and demonstrable use of AI.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain the firm's compliance framework in accordance with FCA rules and applicable legislation.
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business.
• Develop and deliver the annual Compliance Monitoring Plan and ensure timely remediation of identified issues.
• Provide practical regulatory advice to senior management on investments and crypto products and business initiatives and associated regulatory obligations.
• Act as a primary contact for the FCA and other relevant regulatory bodies.
• Own Consumer Duty oversight.
• Oversee financial crime and AML frameworks with the MLRO.
• Identify and assess risks with the 1st line of defence.
• Review financial promotions, website content and marketing communications to ensure compliance with FCA requirements.
• Chair Risk & Compliance Committee.
• Provide training, guidance and independent investigation of compliance matters to support UK Risk & Compliance team members.
• Set and promote the firm’s core values, risk culture and risk appetite at Board level.
