Job summary

Barclays is looking for a Senior Software Engineer - UI Platform Lead in Glasgow to shape and deliver a reusable UI platform. You will drive token-architectures, tooling, and platform integrations across Barclays digital experiences, leading architectural and engineering excellence.

The role requires deep experience with React/TypeScript, design tokens, and cloud/CI pipelines, plus Java/Spring or Node.js for services.

Qualifications

React and TypeScript in a library or platform context, not just apps.
Design token architectures and tooling to transform tokens across platforms.
Build integrations between a platform and external design/tools/CI pipelines.
Java with Spring for APIs or Node.js for tooling/build pipelines.
Experience with generative or AI-assisted developer tools or integrations.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver high-quality software using selected languages and frameworks.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define requirements.
Participate in code reviews and promote code quality and knowledge sharing.
Stay informed on tech trends and contribute to tech communities.
Adhere to secure coding practices to protect data and systems.
