Job summary

Windracers is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Technician to join the Airframe Manufacturing and Assembly Team in the UK. You will work on the production of airframe items, install systems and avionics, and support commissioning of new aircraft, following SOPs and drawings with training provided.

You’ll move between tasks on the line, perform bench and standing work, and help maintain clean workspaces while contributing to aerospace quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on experience in engineering or manufacturing field.
• Ability to follow and give feedback on engineering drawings or manufacturing packs.
• Manufacturing process knowledge.
• General workshop light machining experience.
• Experience using MCAD and ECAD tools (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Hands-on assembly of airframe components, sub-assemblies, and fuel systems from build packs to meet scheduled customer demand.
• Testing and qualification of subsystems following SOPs.
• Feedback of process and assembly pain points to Manufacturing and Engineering Teams.
• Installation of avionics systems onto aircraft, following SOPs.
• On-site support during installation and flight testing of new systems (within the UK).
• Continued management of workspace, ensuring cleanliness and tidiness is maintained.
• Ensuring stock levels of consumables under your control and requesting additional consumables from purchasing.
• Assisting with aircraft level system acceptance testing, where required.
• Documenting work carried out to create a digital aircraft build logs.
• Other responsibilities as agreed with your manager.

Scope

Part of the Airframe Manufacturing and Assembly Team focussing on the ongoing production of airframe items, the installation of systems and avionics onto aircraft, and support during the commissioning process of new aircraft.

The candidate will be expected to be comfortable working within a typical aerospace or engineering assembly space as part of a larger production line for the Windracers ULTRA. They will be comfortable moving from task to task throughout the manufacturing process as part of a smaller sub team. The work will involve following standard engineering drawings and specifications, with training provided where required.

The role will involve both bench based and standing work, as well as opportunities to work away from the production facility supporting our postproduction flight operations within the UK.
