Job summary

SYOS Aerospace in the UK is seeking a hands-on UAS Ground Control Station (GCS) Operator to join our Flight Operations team. You’ll operate Ground Control Stations, monitor aircraft health and mission status, and support Remote Pilots during trials, demonstrations and customer missions.

This role involves configuring mission payloads, tracking airspace and weather, and providing operational feedback to engineering and flight test teams.

Qualifications

• Experience operating UAS/UAV Ground Control Stations in safety-critical environments.
• Strong understanding of uncrewed aircraft operations and flight planning principles.
• Ability to interpret telemetry and mission data and make timely decisions.

Responsibilities

• Operate Ground Control Stations during flight trials, demonstrations and operational missions.
• Monitor aircraft health, telemetry, communications and mission status throughout flight.
• Configure mission systems, payloads and communications equipment.
• Monitor and operate EO/IR, ISR and other mission payloads.
• Record mission data, observations and operational outcomes.
• Support BVLOS and complex UAS operations where authorised.
• Deploy across the UK and internationally to support customer demonstrations, training and missions.
