Job summary

SYOS is seeking a Flight Operations Manager to lead UK UAS flight operations, trials and demonstrations. You will oversee planning, safety and regulatory compliance while coordinating with engineering, trials, certification and customers.

In this hands-on leadership role, you will manage pilots and flight-test teams, optimize operations, and ensure adherence to UK CAA requirements and BPSS security clearance readiness.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in flight operations management, ideally within military aviation, defence or UAS environments.
• Strong understanding of aviation regulations, safety standards and risk management.
• Experience with UK CAA/MAA regulations and regulatory approvals.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, coordination and execution of UAS flight trials and demonstrations for defence and civil customers.
• Develop and manage flight plans, schedules and operational activities across teams.
• Monitor KPIs to improve safety, efficiency and delivery of flight operations.
• Prepare and submit UK CAA and MAA applications and approvals; manage Safety Management System components.
