Job summary

SYOS Aerospace in Fareham, United Kingdom, is seeking an experienced UAS Flight Test Engineer to lead flight trials from prototype to operational capability. You’ll plan and execute flight test campaigns, analyse telemetry and flight data, and work with pilots and engineers to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

You’ll own test activities for fixed‑wing and rotary UAS, develop test plans, risk assessments and test cards, and deliver clear evaluation reports.

Qualifications

3+ years in leading complex UAS flight trials, aerospace R&D or T&E environment.
Experience flight testing fixed-wing and/or rotary-wing UAS.
Strong understanding of test processes: test cards, test plans, risk assessments.
Experience in regulated UAS or aviation organisations.
Ability to lead small, capable operational teams.

Responsibilities

Lead flight test campaigns from preparation to analysis for fixed-wing and rotary UAS.
Develop Flight Test Plans, Risk Assessments, Method Statements and test cards.
Define clear objectives and success criteria for aircraft, payloads and telemetry.
Coordinate live test activity including airspace, areas, equipment and ground support.
Lead pre- and post-flight briefings with pilots, engineers and stakeholders.
